BackgroundNo IT professional wants to be notified that the class she's registered for and looking forward to has suddenly been cancelled, but in too many cases that's exactly what happens. Here's why.For simplicity, let's consider a training company that has exactly one Instructor, who is qualified to teach any of 5 different courses. The company advertises all 5 of those different classes for an upcoming Tuesday, to "cast a wide net" for customers. Shortly before Tuesday rolls around, customers who signed up for 4 of those classes are told that their class is cancelled, while the class that attracted the largest number of customers–which is competing for the same time slot on the Instructor's schedule with the other 4 classes–will be run as scheduled. In addition to severely disappointing potential students and their managers, a cancelled class can wreak havoc on timetables for corporate projects and the personal growth plans of employees. Here's our solution to this problem that's been vexing the IT industry for decades. On a predetermined day before the class starts, if at least ONE STUDENT has registered and paid for a class, we will guarantee to run that class in one of these training formats:*
FAQ #1: What's the Difference Between the Full–Day and Half–Day Training Formats? With both formats, students get the benefit of the Instructor's attention, guidance, and expertise, and pay the same price. The major difference is that with the half-day format, students do most of their hands-on lab work outside of class time. However, to prevent students from getting stuck on minor details and wasting time during these independent work sessions, the Instructor is avaliable for live support via Chat, Email, and Telephone.
FAQ #2: What are the Pros and Cons of the Half–Day vs. Full–Day Training Formats?
FAQ #3: What if I Don't Like the Half–Day Training Format?Students who are unsure about whether they would like the half-day format are free to try it during the first half-day of class; after that, they may request a full refund of prepaid tuition if they wish (the refund will be provided promptly after the student returns the course materials). To further allay any anxieties customers might have about our half-day training format any, any student who takes a class in the half-day format is welcome to attend a future full-day version of that class (enrolment permitting) for a nominal materials fee.
FAQ #4: What's the Background and Track Record for the Half–Day Training Format? We've been using this format for several years in our Tutoring Service, to satisfy the special class-size and scheduling needs of such companies as VMware, IBM, the City of Seattle, International Paper, Research in Motion, AT&T, and Boeing–with no complaints!
FAQ #5: How Can Consultix Afford to Teach a Class Having Only One Student? The short answer is that we couldn't afford to do this on a regular basis for very long, but we're betting that
